На монетах изображен Левон I, который сидит на троне, украшенном львами, его ноги опираются на скамеечку для ног. Левон I в короне и королевской мантии на плечах. Он держит крест в правой руке и скипетр в левой.
На монетах надпись на армянском: «+ Левон Царь армян». На оборотной стороне монет изображены два льва спина к спине, с повернутыми головами, с патриархальным крестом между ними с обрамленной надписью на армянском : «+ по воле Бога».
